Above & Beyond Cancer

Above + beyond cancer’s mission is to elevate the mind, body and spirit of patients, survivors and caregivers throughout the cancer journey.

Above + beyond cancer’s hotel program provides accessibility and increases the likelihood that patients can complete treatment, even when they might be hours away from their treatment center. The hotel program provides free lodging to cancer patients and their families who must travel at least 50 miles to their treatment center and cannot afford accommodations. In 2025, above + beyond cancer provided 1,003 nights of lodging to cancer patients and caregivers throughout Iowa.

Above + beyond cancer transformational journeys provide cancer survivors and caregivers opportunities to travel the globe challenging themselves both physically and mentally. Above + beyond cancer provides both domestic and international journeys that allow participants to bond with others dealing with cancer, offering mutual support. In 2025, above + beyond cancer took 28 cancer survivors and caregivers to hike the w trek in patagonia, chile.
