Breast Cancer Resource Center
Description
The mission of bcrc is to empower those affected by breast cancer with personalized support and compassion. Bcrc is organized at the grass roots level by breast cancer survivors for the primary purpose of providing information and emotional support for people with breast cancer, their families, their friends, and others in the community who are concerned about breast cancer in the central Texas area.
Community education and outreach: bcrc conducts outreach through speaking engagements, coalition participation, presentations at conferences, published articles in respected journals and through social media and website interactions. Bcrc provides education to physicians and other health care professionals and to clients by webinar. Bcrc launched breast cancer university (BCU) in October 2024 and in 2025 had over 10,000 visits. BCU is an online educational hub housing webinars and videos for anyone impacted by breast cancer.
Volunteer support: bcrcs volunteers are invaluable to achieving bcrcs mission. Volunteers provided support to bcrc for the annual art bra austin event in June 2025. In addition, throughout the year volunteers helped with various tasks such as being speakers at events, supporting cancer patients in infusion rooms, pillow stuffing, and representing bcrc at community events.
Breast Cancer Resource Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN 74-2743333) based in Austin, TX.
