Endometrial Cancer Action Network for African Americans

ECANA is a sustainable infrastructure for personal empowerment to better health – through knowledge, community building, and action – for African-American women at risk and those already affected by endometrial cancer. ECANA promotes transparent, equity-directed patient-centered research to reduce racial disparities in endometrial cancer through project development, training patient advisors, and public promotion of research efforts.
Execution of the Survivor Sanctuary – Survivors’ Sanctuary, a support group for Black women with EC, meets 4-5 times a month. In 2025, a bi-yearly book club with special meeting dates was added. On average there are 4 sessions a month, in addition to special guest sessions. In 2025 there were 9 book club special meetings and 10 Survivors Sanctuary Presents sessions.
