NAMI Santa Clara County

NAMI scc’s mission is to provide education and support services to individuals and families who have a lived experience with mental health conditions-the root cause of svere mental illness; to educate the public at large through community presentations and outreach; to provide advocacy and promote research; to reduce stigma and discrmination in the community; and to improve services by wsorking with health professionals and families.

NAMI provides education and support services to the rersidents of santa clara county. Sixteen programs in five languages with 26 program coordinators and over 130 mentors, teachers, presenters and volunteers who generously give over 10,000 hours every year towards educating the public at large through community presnetations and peer based classes, all feee of charge to program participants. Eucational programs dwell on the emotional responses families have to the trauma of mental illness; offered in English, Spanish and mandarin with 250 participants.
