AdvocateBridge is committed to helping patients and caregivers find trustworthy support. This page explains how we select, review, and maintain the directory listings on our site.
Our Mission
We help patients and caregivers find trusted patient advocacy organizations, independent advocates, professional societies, and community-based organizations. We design every part of this experience for people under real stress â with plain language, low-pressure search, and clear next steps.
How Listings Are Selected
Directory listings come from multiple sources:
- Public registries and databases: We identify organizations through national and state-level registries of patient advocacy groups, professional medical societies, and community health organizations.
- Professional association directories: We cross-reference membership directories of recognized advocacy and medical professional bodies.
- Direct submissions: Organizations and independent advocates can submit their own listings through our submission form. Submitted listings are reviewed before publication.
- Advisory panel recommendations: Our advisory panel members recommend organizations based on their expertise and community knowledge.
How Listings Are Reviewed
Every listing is evaluated for:
- Accuracy: Is the organization name, description, contact information, and website correct and current?
- Legitimacy: Does the organization appear to be a real, operating entity? Can we verify it through public sources?
- Relevance: Does the organization serve patients, caregivers, or families in a way that fits our directory categories?
- Completeness: Does the listing contain enough detail for a patient to understand what the organization does and how to contact them?
Trust Labels
We use three trust labels to help visitors quickly assess listing quality:
- Verified listing: Checked against stronger sources. Contact information and organizational details have been independently confirmed.
- Reviewed listing: Good details and a reviewed profile. The listing has been editorially examined but may not have been independently verified against external sources.
- Basic listing: May still need details confirmed. The listing contains initial information that has not yet been fully reviewed or verified.
Trust labels reflect the current state of our review process. We work continuously to upgrade Basic listings to Reviewed and Verified status.
What We Are Not
- Not medical advice: AdvocateBridge is a directory. We do not provide medical advice, diagnoses, or treatment recommendations. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider for medical decisions.
- Not an endorsement: Inclusion in our directory does not constitute an endorsement, recommendation, or guarantee of any organization’s services, quality, or outcomes.
- Not a referral service: We help you find organizations that may be able to help. The relationship between you and any organization you contact is between you and them.

Editorial Independence
AdvocateBridge does not accept payment for listing placement, ranking, or trust labels. Listing order in search results is determined by relevance to your search criteria, not by any financial relationship.
